I made this collage to process my feelings about average people’s removal from their sacred spaces, such as the home, during raids by ICE. While my work is whimsical and romantic, I feel great sadness over the loss of people forcibly removed from our communities, especially as home should be a place of warmth, protection and comfort. It sometimes feels like when systems fail to protect us, all we have left is wishful thinking and magic, and even if magic feels like an unreliable and unreal form of protection. This piece serves as a very small offering, a tiny but not insignificant hope that one’s home will continue to provide the safety that a home should give.
I sometimes incorporate floriology into my work, to express meaning not always obvious to a casual viewer. This piece features:
Yarrow
Geranium
Clover
Nasturtium
To me, common flowers and herbal flowers evoke a sense of home, regular reminders of our day to day passings of familiarity and comfort.
Care
This piece comes ready to hang. Please hang out of direct sunlight to maintain the quality of the work. Lightly dust with a fine paint brush.

If you’re local to Tucson, I warmly advise you to pick-up artwork directly from me at my studio, or, have me deliver it, to ensure that the artwork remains in perfect condition. I will reach out to you directly upon purchase to arrange our meeting. If this is not possible, I will ship directly to you.
All other collectors: please allow 1-2 weeks for packaging prior to shipment. Buyer is responsible for customs fees upon entry to country of origin.
